Online shopsmade simple

If you want to sell online, the shop needs to be as easy for you to run as it is for your customers to use.

A shop that fits your business

I design and build online shops for small businesses, from a handful of products added to an existing website to a full shop built from the ground up.

Every shop is designed around your brand. Branding and graphic design are part of what I offer, so your logo, product graphics and shop can all be designed together and feel like one business. For product images, I can tidy up your own photos or create lifestyle shots without a photoshoot.

Easy to buy from

If a shop is confusing, people don’t finish their order.

I design every shop so that products are easy to find, the details people need are clear, and the checkout is quick and straightforward on any device. It’s the same approach to usability I take on every website I build.

The small details matter here. Delivery costs, returns information and the checkout form are where people tend to give up, so I make sure each one is clear before they get that far.

More on website usability

Search engine friendly

A shop only works if people can find it.

Every shop I build has the search engine basics set up properly, including page titles, descriptions, clear structure, optimised images and fast-loading pages. That gives your products the best chance of showing up when people search for them.

Product pages are set up so search results can show details like price and whether an item is in stock. You know your products best, so I’ll show you how to write descriptions that help people find them.

The practical side

A shop has to be secure, reliable and simple to manage.

Most of the shops I build use WooCommerce on WordPress. It’s flexible and widely supported. For simpler shops, a hosted platform like Shopify can sometimes be a better fit, and if I think that’s the case, I’ll tell you.

What’s set up for you

  1. Payments

Taken through Stripe or PayPal and handled securely by them, so card details never pass through your site.

  2. Delivery

Delivery options and courier integrations, set up to suit how you send.

  3. Order emails

The emails your customers receive, ready from day one.

  4. Day to day

Add new products, update prices, run discounts and see what’s selling, all from one place and without touching any code.

Room to grow

Once the shop is live, I’ll show you how to run it.

If you’d rather not deal with updates and changes yourself, I can look after it for you. You can ask for that from the start, or later once you know how much time the shop takes. You speak to me directly whenever something needs changing.

As your business grows, the shop can grow with it. A handful of products can become a full catalogue, and new features, payment options or a different delivery setup can be added later without starting again.
