For more than twenty years, I’ve designed and built websites, branding and digital projects for individuals, small businesses, consultancies and tradespeople across the UK.

I didn’t start out in web design. I studied Fine Art, Sound and Image, then spent ten years in music and audio production, working with recording artists and sound designers. A master’s in digital media and usability led me into building websites, and in 2006 I set up DW Multimedia.

One of my longest projects was five years with one of the UK’s leading online chess retailers. I built the shop they launched with, long before WordPress and WooCommerce were the obvious choice, and went on to handle their branding, product photography and the running of the website. So I’ve seen what it takes to run an online business from the inside, not just how to build one.

That background still shapes how I work. I think about how a site looks, reads and feels, not just how it functions, and I enjoy projects that bring different disciplines together. Alongside websites and branding, I’ve worked on award-winning radio for BBC Radio 4, and designed the interface for an accessible educational experience based on a Crucible Theatre production.

Most of my clients come through recommendations, and many have worked with me for years. I keep things straightforward, with clear advice, realistic costs and no jargon. I’ll tell you what’s worth doing and what isn’t, and I get back to people quickly. For larger or more technical projects, I work with a developer I trust, so you still get a personal service, with extra expertise when it’s needed.

When I’m not at my desk, you’ll usually find me walking somewhere along the Dorset coast.
